I will dominate 'serious boxer' Paul - Joshua
The British boxer is set to fight Jake Paul in an eight round fight which will be shown live on Netflix.
Briton Anthony Joshua declared he will "overwhelm entirely" Jake Paul and "break" the American as the combatants came face-to-face to publicize next month's boxing match.
Former two-time world heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua faces YouTuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul - in what is, on paper, a huge uneven pairing - at Miami Kaseya Center on 19 December.
Fighter's Mindset
"I plan to break his face and hurt his body. I aim to demonstrate I'm superior," Joshua, 35, stated.
"I plan to overwhelm him. That's a fighter's mentality.
"I'm going to seriously aim to cause him pain. That's what I want to do."
Civil Exchange
In spite of such comments, a composed Joshua and social media star Paul - typically recognized for his theatrics - were respectful and maintained decorum with each other.
Paul rather attacked ex Joshua's opponent Francis Ngannou and described him as "not serious" after Ngannou rejected a bout proposal.
Taking Aim at Fury
Joshua, meanwhile, took aim at British opponent Tyson Fury - and rejected a £1m bet 'Tyson Fury' states he will put on a victory for Paul.
"[Paul] is superior to Fury - he's present here," the boxer commented.
"I respect him for that."
Legitimate Fighter
In spite of saying he intends to hurt Jake Paul, Joshua declined to speak negatively about his opponent's boxing ability.
"Jake is a legitimate boxer," he remarked.
Jake Paul's History
Paul - who first rose to fame on the Disney Channel - has mostly fought mixed martial artists or faded names since becoming pro.
He was defeated by British fighter Tommy Fury in last year.
Commercial Success
Nevertheless, the inexperienced fighter remains one of the sport's largest commercial attractions, frequently receiving massive financial rewards.
Prediction and Belief
The 28-year-old predicted a KO victory in rounds four or five and claimed he would stop the highly-expected Fury-Joshua bout, which is allegedly under discussion for 2026.
"It's going to be my match with Fury in the coming year," Jake Paul said.
Physical Difference
As Joshua and Paul engaged in the usual stare-down, with their height and weight contrast on show, it emphasized just how surprising this whole event is - and how amazing it is that the bout is truly proceeding.
